Hello friends, acquaintances, onlookers, and lurkers: I am truly so happy to be writing you today from sunny Austin, Texas.
To make a long story short, lockdown in NYC was a mental health disaster for me and I couldn’t take it. I wrote about that here (no pressure, it’s a heavy one)
Lockdown in NYC made me want to kill myself, so I had to leave
Though my coaching practice has been open for business throughout all this, my capacity to write and pursue new avenues for business growth has been obviously hampered. But now that the fog is lifting, the boxes are all unpacked (but a few), and we’ve found a new babysitter, things are seeming much more manageable - pandemic notwithstanding.
Please know that if the pandemic has affected your mental health, you’re far from alone. People joke about their anxiety, “doomscrolling” Twitter, etc but many a truth… (And apparently younger adults have it worse than older ones - due to financial stress, parenting pressures, and being thwarted in efforts to reach their goals).
I’ll be back on Friday with a new blog post - in the meantime, if you have Austin restaurant recs or anyone local who I should meet, please drop me a line!
Until then, thanks for reading/caring and have a good one.
Warmly,
Pamela
